Job Description
Come work with a renowned privately owned commercial construction firm based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL that specializes in commercial health care repairs, remodeling and restoration, roofing, equipment rentals, cabinetry, and insurance consulting. We're seeking a motivated individual with a strong work ethic as a full-time Construction Estimator.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 7+ years of experience with estimating
- Experience with using Xactimate
- Comfortable working in a face paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in construction or related field
Duties:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements.
- Inspect the site to determine the scope of work
- Prepare the estimate in Xactimate
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, adjusters, and property managers
- Document activities and communication in company software/systems
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients, employees, and subcontractors
- Be persuasive in communicating the solution and its value
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
