Responsibilities:
- Operate hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing machinery to weld metal
- Preheat workpieces before welding
- Fill holes, indentations, or seams
- Inspect products for quality and conformance to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work orders, etc.
- Must be able to read weld symbols
- Must know the MIG welding process and be proficient
- Measure and calculate dimensions
- Be familiar with decimal/fraction conversions
- Ignite torches or start power supplies
- Hammer out bulges
- Oversee the welding process to prevent overheating and adjust settings
- Be proficient with hand tools (hammers, squares, grinders, drills, impacts, wrenches, etc)
- Maintain the safety and functionality of equipment and machinery
- Be comfortable being around/potentially using overhead cranes, tow motors, scissor lifts, and platform ladders
- Train new hires
- Comply with health and safety regulations and always wear protective gear
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Aluminum welding and TIG welding experience a plus
Position Requirements:
- Previous welding experience is required
- Mathematical skills
- Stand for an extended time
- Problem-solver
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
