Department: Surgical Services
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Surgery Manager
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our Surgical Services team. The Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring efficient and timely patient care.
Responsibilities:
Schedule surgeries and procedures based on physician availability and patient needs
Coordinate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless scheduling process
Communicate pre-operative instructions and information to patients
Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records
Assist with pre-operative paperwork and documentation
Collaborate with surgical team to optimize scheduling efficiency
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent IS A PLUS
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in surgery scheduling
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in medical terminology and computer skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
