Position Overview
A Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the construction process for various projects in the government, federal, commercial, industrial, and renovation sectors. They are responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and communication with clients and subcontractors
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure that project milestones are met
- Monitor and report on project progress, including identifying and addressing any issues or delays
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect work and ensure quality control
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders
- Communicate with government agencies and obtain necessary permits and approvals
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues that may arise
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations on site
- Train and supervise construction workers and provide feedback on performance
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent in the government or commercial construction industry
- Strong knowledge of government contracts and regulations
- Experience with federal construction projects is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ground-up construction, renovations, and tenant improvements
- Certification in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards is a plus
