Senior Structural Engineer - Boston, Massachusetts
Our client, a leading engineering firm in Boston, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Structural Engineering & Evaluation team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections for structural damage and defects.
- Analyze data on structural conditions, materials, and construction practices.
- Perform structural analysis and modeling.
- Determine root causes of structural issues and recommend repairs.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports.
- Serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
- Manage forensic engineering projects.
- Stay updated on advancements in structural engineering and forensic analysis.
- Participate in business development and professional development activities.
- Mentor junior staff.
Requirements:
- Education: BS in Civil or Structural Engineering; MS/PhD preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering, focusing on forensic investigations.
- Licensure: PE or SE required; both preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- Business Development: Experience in client engagement and proposal preparation.
Physical and Travel Demands:
- Field or lab work, including heights or confined spaces.
- Additional hours and up to 40% travel may be required.
