Key Responsibilities:

· Security Strategy and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs.
  • Ability to implement strategies, solutions and projects that require multiple discipline buy in and capital monetary resources.

· Attends onboarding training, departmental and plantwide training (virtual and in person); And pass a test at the end of the training when applicable.

· Participates in safety committees, work safety observations and monthly safety trainings.

· Able to wear full PPE personal protective equipment including uniforms, safety shoes etc.

· Responsible to comply with safety & quality work procedures & requirements throughout the plant.

· Understands, supports, and executes all work in safe manner and contribute to a culture that promotes safety as its overriding priority.

· At ease with both holding vendors accountable to contract commitments and to praise their performance in situations of accomplishment.

· Ensures materials are secured in approved, designated spaces based on the job task.

· Maintains efficient use of time and observes safe work practices.

· Investigate TOA allocated and ensure timeous feedback to management.

· Performs all assignments in accordance with safety specifications, instructions, and requirements.

· Demonstrates ability to meet security requirements on specific assignments within required time.

· Reports for work on time to support startup and throughput goals.

· Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space.

Departmental Work Responsibilities:

· Assist with the development of training, education programs, and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is prepared for potential security issues, crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events.

· Implementing protective security strategies across the organization to support asset protection and organizational preparedness.

· Manage the physical access program, policies, and procedures for access to the buildings and the plant.

· Scan the Security/ Criminal environment internally and externally for opportunities, threats,

· Hiring new team members, supervising the security workforce, managing annual performance reviews, and mentoring and coaching staff

· Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Oversee the performance of security vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and contractual obligations.

· Regulatory Compliance and liaison with local fire, police, and EMS:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, federal, and international regulations related to security.

· Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

· Subject matter expert of security systems and equipment

· Communications devices, i.e., telephone and two-way hand-held radio

· Advances knowledge of surveillance systems

· Digital and Network video recording systems

· Walkthrough metal detectors for precious metals

· Handheld metal detection devices

· X-ray equipment

· Coordinate investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials

· Respond to alarm calls after business hours

· Understand law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures.

· Covers and support security posts as needed.

· Manages and Monitors security systems to comply with regulatory and certification requirements, reports issues to upper management

· Ensures that all security events are logged, documented and reported using standard procedures

· Creates and maintains a written training program for existing and new security officers

· Suggest improvements to process

· Is a knowledge resource of other team members

Qualifications:

o Degree in Criminal law or similar line of study or 5 years of work in a relevant role.

o Five years of experience as a Security Manager - Preferred prior Law Enforcement or Military background with having served in a command-type role and have experience with investigative report writing.

o Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

o Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook

o Willing to respond to work site if needed during off-peak and business hours for emergency calls.

o Able to function as part of a team, effectively interacting with co-workers and visitors

o Must be able to pass a background and credit check successfully

o Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods as well as bending at the waist repeatedly throughout a shift searching persons, boxes, and bags.
