Job Title: RN/LPN School Nurse (PDN)

Location: Milwaukee, WI 53216

Type: 3+ Months (possibility for conversion)

Schedule: 8 hrs. a day / M – F / 40 hrs. /week.

Hourly Pay: $50 - $58 (RN) & $40 - $45 (LPN)

Job Description:

Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
Keep track of students' vaccination records and update, verify medical history
Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases).
Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists.
Ensure compliance with national and local health laws.
Conducting student hearing and vision screenings.
Educating students on hygiene and safety practices.
Dispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructions.
Taking students' temperatures when fever is suspected.
Administering first aid and CPR.
Treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruises.
Contacting parents when students are ill or injured.

Requirements:

The nurse must have an ADN for LPN and BSN for RN or higher.
Prefer Candidate having an experience, preferably in school setting, pediatric, but will take private duty, LTAC and Hospital exp.
