Mid/Sr. Level Product Engineer - Macedonia, OH - Oversee and improve product through delivery to customer resolving and troubleshooting/testing any issues, assisting manufacturing, process improvement.
Local/Regional candidates to Cleveland area. Must have US Citizenship due to military contracts

Project Management and Continuous Improvement from customer requirements to delivery
**Immediate consideration given to those with 3D design skills to develop jigs and fixtures for testing, any optics background, and component/assembly manufacturing skills.
- Work in close coordination with Business Development, Program Manager and Design team from proposal to system delivery
- Understand all customer program requirements and ensure custom designs meet customer specification and design intent
- Design, develop products, ensuring they meet functional, cost, and performance standards
- Conduct theoretical testing on design models
- Identify and solve any engineering issues or design flaws during the testing phase
- Create and manage build of product prototypes for optical and mechanical testing
- Translate system designs and specifications into production manufacturing specifications and procedures working closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure smooth transition from design to mass production
- Technical interface with vendors:
- Optical and Opto-mechanical design reviews
- System assembly and performance testing
- Resolve technical challenges early in production, ensuring product quality and manufacturing efficiency
- Analyze product performance and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement engineering changes to existing products to enhance functionality, reduce costs, or address quality concerns
- Maintain accurate records of design iterations, testing results, and engineering specifications
- Administrative functions such as managing solidworks vault, ECN's prototype testing, and design reviews .
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in engineering
- 5-10 years of experience in product development or engineering role
- Project leadership: experience leading projects and cross-functional teams
- Solidworks to design jigs and fixtures for testing
- Experience with product testing, validation and prototyping
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining)
- Familiarity with quality control systems and regulatory compliance
- US Citizenship
Nice to have:
- Experience in optical component manufacturing and inspection
- Experience in Opto-Mechanical Design
- Experience in Opto-Electrical Design
