Job Description

Position Summary:

Essential Position Duties:

  • Responsible for the design, development, and release of components on new powered industrial truck products.
  • Develop a wide range of parts including welded steel assemblies, metal castings, plastics, rubbers, multi-part assemblies, electrical components, and more.
  • Develop 3D models, drawings, and study files using CATIA. Manage files in PDM software.
  • Ensure drawing quality by considering design intent, materials, quality control characteristics, dimensions, tolerances, product requirements, and clarity.
  • Able to validate designs by using FEA software.
  • Specify main system parameters and design components to meet product performance and durability requirements.
  • Participate in recurring design reviews to uphold design quality and facilitate communication within the group.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, cost, quality and delivery of new products.
  • Work with testing group to detail necessary tests and pass/fail criteria for prototype evaluation.
  • Create and manage simultaneous engineering design documents like DFMEAs, part lists (BOM), and engineering change instructions.
  • Create, manage, and execute development schedule for components in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Requires 5 or more years of experience in Product Design / Development
  • Prefer a candidate with material handling, automotive, or heavy equipment design experience
  • Requires 3D CAD (CATIA preferred) and PDM system experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong analytical ability
  • Proficient communication and documentation skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and work effectively with cross-cultural team
