Job Title: Patient Registration Specialist

Location: Geneva

Hourly : $21 (based on experience)

Length: Contract to Hire

Schedule: M-F

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Patient Registration Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for registering patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and ensuring accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EPIC .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
  • Register patients efficiently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and address any registration-related questions.
  • Update and maintain patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate with medical staff to manage patient flow.
  • Provide high-quality customer service by addressing patient concerns professionally.
  • Handle incoming calls related to patient registration, insurance, and scheduling.
  • Work closely with billing and finance departments to resolve registration discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
  • Experience in patient registration, medical front desk, or healthcare administration .
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, co-pay collection, and billing procedures .
  • Proficiency in EPIC or other EHR systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality policies.
