Job Description

Buchheit Logistics is searching for an experienced Shop Supervisor to join our team. Here at Buchheit, it's a family atmosphere. As the Shop Supervisor, you will assist the Director of Maintenance by taking the lead in ensuring that the Company’s fleet is well maintained and road ready. This is a "working" Supervisor role; meaning we expect our Shop Supervisor to work both as a technician, supervise the shop's Fleet Mechanics, and manage the shop office workflow. The qualified individual must be organized, customer-driven, mechanically-minded, and comfortable with computers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Minimum of 5-years’ fleet maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisor or foreman role in a shop environment.
  • Facilitate equipment maintenance and repairs and monitor completion of work orders.
  • Assist the Director of Maintenance to ensure maintenance/repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all company owned/leased equipment meets or exceeds DOT/FMCSA specifications.
  • Facilitate job specific technician training, OSHA training, and conduct safety meetings.
  • Track and update recalls, bulletins, tool safety evaluations, and other equipment information as needed.
  • Have maintenance experience with End-dump, Hopper-bottom, Dry-van and various other equipment types.
  • Have experience with multiple makes/models of fleet power units.
  • Have experience with truck and trailer preventative maintenance (brake, wheel, suspension, drive line, clutch, after-treatment, and other assemblies).
  • Must be able to perform technician work and assist technicians with completion of assigned tasks.
  • Have knowledge in use of mechanic’s tools.
  • Have basic knowledge of welding and fabrication (steel and aluminum).
  • Have knowledge of electrical system, HVAC, ABS, and air brake diagnostics and repairs.
  • Have knowledge of fleet tire programs.
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Abide by/enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment within the shop, outside areas, and buildings.
  • Interact with other departments, team members and drivers to ensure a positive experience with the shop.
  • Answer the phone and manage incoming calls, service requests, road calls and vendor inquiries.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Other duties as directed or assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and transportation R&M software (experience with Trimble/TMT a strong plus).
  • Must be willing to work a 40-hour week; may include some overtime as required, including occasional Saturday and night calls to coordinate road repairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work indoors or outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Class A CDL preferred.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.

Compensation details: 60000-70000 Yearly Salary
