Job Description:
LANDSCAPE DESIGNER / SALESPERSON
The "Landscape Design / Salesperson" must be proficient in landscape design and sales, with a general knowledge of construction and horticulture. This position sells, writes, assists, and fulfills design contracts. This position also assists construction estimating and sales efforts.
REQUIREMENTS
· Adhere to company’s core values of quality, teamwork, stewardship, innovation, service and integrity.
· Minimum 2-year degree in horticulture, landscape architecture, equivalent topic or 4 years of landscape design experience.
· Ability to effectively and expeditiously process the sales and completion of design projects.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate steps to fulfill client needs.
· Ability to assist in construction efforts: pre-construction meetings, plant placement, client-Madrone coordination, and change orders or substitutions.
· Ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically with the client, field operation team and management team.
· Continuing education requirement of minimum 20 hrs./year.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Design
· Contact design leads, sell design services
· Write design proposals, manage client expectations
· Lead and assist design work to fulfill design proposal obligations
· Take field measurements, plans, or aerials to accurately draft site plans
· Client design reviews, bid reviews, and construction sales
Sales and Estimating
· Represent Madrone as an ambassador to the public to uphold business integrity and profile.
· Assist in contacting and acquiring new clients through phone solicitation, client meetings.
· Assist in plan take-offs, estimating, and quote procurement for construction estimates.
· Develop project estimates and sells construction and maintenance jobs.
Construction Coordination and Client Assistance
· Conduct pre-construction meetings with property owner, operations manager, field staff and/or subcontractors.
· Create job files, contracts, and hand off information to the construction department seamlessly.
· Manage client expectations with thorough communication and coordination with Madrone team.
· Assist in conducting final walkthroughs with clients.
Marketing
· Monitor and update website and social media outreach efforts
· Lead and track Winery Outreach efforts
· Create marketing material as needed (flyers, posters, etc.)
EVALUATION
· Demonstrate the ability to solicit and acquire new clients, from initiating contact through signing of contracts.
· Assist in developing lectures and attending events for the promotion of Madrone Landscapes, Inc.
· Demonstrate the ability to effectively and expeditiously process the sales and completion of design projects, and adhering to established design budgets.
· Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically with the client, field operation team and management team.
· Adhere to company policies, standards and safety guidelines.
· Able to work with management and other employees as a team.
