Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support our molecular biology and fermentations R&D teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge research environment.
Title: Laboratory Technician - Molecular Biology and Fermentations R&D
Duration: 1-year contract - with extension possible
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (some weekends as needed)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily tasks including media and plate preparation
- Restock lab supplies and maintain lab support areas
- Clean and sterilize glassware
- Collect and autoclave waste
- Maintain and operate various scientific equipment
- Perform weekend sample collection on a rotational basis
- Assist with other general support duties as needed
Requirements:
- Some laboratory experience preferred
- Good understanding of sterile techniques and biosafety practices
- Strong basic math skills
- Ability to work under minimal direct supervision
- Willingness to work occasional weekends for sample collection
- Must pass a background check and drug test
Desired Skills:
- Experience in molecular biology or fermentation labs
- Familiarity with common lab equipment and procedures
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to follow protocols accurately
- Good communication and teamwork skills
