Major, Lindsey & Africa’s corporate client is seeking an interim General Counsel with experience handling labor & employment and overseeing outside counsel related to product liability matters.

Location: Irving, TX
Responsibilities:
- Provide labor and employment counseling across all levels of the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Oversee product liability matters, including litigation strategy and supervision of outside counsel.
- Manage outside counsel relationships efficiently, ensuring cost-effective legal support and high-quality representation.
- Support broader business operations by identifying and mitigating legal risks associated with employment and product liability.
- Partner with leadership to provide strategic legal guidance in alignment with the company's growth trajectory.
- Maintain a hands-on approach to legal matters, balancing independent work and external legal partnerships.
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to the State Bar.
- 10+ years of legal experience in labor and employment counseling and product liability law.
- Experience working as General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, or in an in-house legal role within a manufacturing or consumer products company preferred.
- Familiarity with private equity-backed business operations and M&A transactions is a plus.
- Strong ability to manage outside counsel while also handling legal matters directly.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
