Registered Nurse – Infusion Center – Downtown Knoxville

A not-for-profit hospital system in eastern Tennessee is seeking a full-time, experienced Infusion Nurse for their growing, infusion center.

The role you will play:

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care.
  • Assess learning needs of patient and family.
  • Develops and initiates teaching plan, involving patient and family.
  • Recommends interventions.
  • Evaluates plan of care.
  • Resolves problems regarding less complex issues without oversight or supervision.
  • Member of established active hospital committee or subcommittee with 75% participation in meetings.
  • Demonstrates willingness to precept new employees/students as directed.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Caring for oncology and hematology infusion patients including the use of central lines and administration of hazardous medications including chemotherapy.

Background:

  • Two years of experience preferred
  • Valid TN RN License
  • CPR
  • ACLS
  • 1 year of Oncology experience.
