Spectrum Staffing Group has a high priority search underway for an HR Manager for a best practices company located in downtown Dallas. This role is 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. It requires multi-family real estate experience and a depth of HR experience including HRIS, employee relations, generalist experience, payroll and compliance.
About the Role
This role will function as a generalist across core HR disciplines while leading, mentoring, and evaluating at least one direct report.
Responsibilities
- HRIS & Data Management
- Serve as the primary contact for the HRIS platform and vendor relationships
- Maintain accurate and timely employee records
- Regularly assess system capabilities and recommend improvements
- Employee Relations
- Onboarding & Orientation
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
- Maintain and update employee policies and handbook
- Oversee leave administration (FMLA, non-FMLA, etc.) and workers’ compensation documentation
Payroll, Benefits & Compensation
- Process corporate payroll and support on-site payroll as needed
- Manage benefits programs including health plans, 401(k), and perks
- Lead annual open enrollment and vendor partnerships
Training & Development
- Design and implement corporate HR training programs
- Collaborate with operations training teams for site-based initiatives
- Monitor performance review cycles and provide resources to managers
Reporting & Analytics
- Track and analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover, retention, engagement)
- Provide actionable insights to drive HR strategy
- Leverage survey data and industry benchmarks to guide decision-making
Culture & Engagement
- Promote positive work culture through recognition, communication, and DEI efforts
- Plan and execute engagement and culture-building initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience in a multi-state environment
- Background in real estate, property management, or student housing (preferred)
- Deep knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Experience with HRIS platforms and payroll systems
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of ownership, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Travel up to 10% for team-building and site visits
Preferred Skills
- Background in real estate, property management, or student housing
- 2+ years managing and developing direct reports
