Mika Coral Gables is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests entering our restaurant, you will be responsible for greeting and seating patrons in a welcoming and professional manner. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet guests warmly as they arrive, providing an upbeat and friendly atmosphere.
- Manage the reservation system, ensuring timely seating and proper table assignments.
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable.
- Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times clearly to guests.
- Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner, handling reservations and inquiries.
- Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Ensure guests’ needs are met promptly and efficiently during their visit.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and surrounding areas.
- Assist with guest departures, thanking them for their visit and inviting them to return.
- Handle guest complaints or issues with professionalism, escalating to management when necessary.
- Assist with special events, promotions, and other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a busy, high-pressure environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to assist others.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to navigate a busy restaurant floor while managing various tasks.
