Maspeth Town Hall is a thriving community center providing a variety of educational, cultural, and recreational services. These include After School and Summer Camp programming, toddler play groups, and senior-focused classes. We proudly serve families from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds in Maspeth and surrounding neighborhoods.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Grants Manager will be responsible for managing the grant lifecycle from award through closeout, including contract agreements and financial reporting for MTH grants and affiliated organizations. They prepare contract documents for registration. The Grants Manager will also monitor spending levels for each grant so they are aligned with fiscal year budgets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Grant Management & Financial Administration:
- Prepare and submit documents for contract and amendment registration.
- Initiate subcontractor or vendor agreements in accordance with contract guidelines.
- Serve as primary point of contact between MTH and affiliated organizations.
- Serve as a liaison between affiliated organizations and funders.
- Assist with budget preparation and submission in accordance with fiscal policies.
- Initiate budget modifications as needed.
- Monitor contract spending and raise awareness, concerns or recommendations as appropriate to ensure reimbursements are maximized.
- Review and analyze the reasonableness of expenditures in accordance with fiscal policies.
- Prepare and submit expense reports on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis with required supporting documentation.
- Assist with audit inquiries related to grants as needed.
Grant Procurement & Compliance:
- Prepare grant proposals and applications for city and state agencies.
- Coordinate with affiliated organizations to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
- Monitor award and/or contract status through city and state reports and portals.
- Submit prequalification applications and renewals for city and state agencies.
- Maintain account credentials for grant applications on behalf of the affiliated organizations.
- Submit year end reports and desk reviews.
- Attend professional development trainings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of practice.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience required.
- Licensed Notary Public in New York State, or willingness to acquire one.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience with grants management and financial reporting.
- Experience with NYC and/or NYS grants and nonprofit compliance portals (example: PASSPort, SFS, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills, to coordinate effective, efficient, and timely completion of tasks.
- Exceptional communication, time management, interpersonal, and resourceful thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft applications and Google Suite.
HOW TO APPLY
