Environmental Specialist / Engineer in Anniston, AL, Job 1766

This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our manufacturing client and REQUIRES commuting to the Anniston, AL area. Relocation assistance within the US is available.

What you will be doing:

As the Environmental Specialist / Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the management and overall direction of EHS programs and activities at the facility

Partial List of Minimum Requirements (Must possess ALL listed to be considered):

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • One (1) or more years of Environmental regulatory experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Demonstrated success handling multi-media environmental programs

  • Additional Preferred (not required) Competencies:3 or more years of EHS management experience in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Air permitting

  • Major Responsibilities:Partner with operational leadership and serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding interpretation of federal, state, and local Environmental compliance regulations.
  • Align corporate and local Environmental goals and strategies.
  • Participate in/lead audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed.
  • Participate in/lead multi-media environmental compliance including, but not limited to: Water (waste, storm); Solid Waste (hazardous and non-hazardous); Air (internal respiratory and external emissions)
  • Maintain positive relationships with federal, state, and local regulators.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Lead or participate in employee training programs regarding EHS behaviors and compliance.
