Job Description
The Engine Technician I is responsible for providing high quality repair service on natural gas engines.
Duties & Responsibilities - Learn to install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with supervision
- Learn to troubleshoot engines, fault isolation, proper balancing, over speed testing and run engine test stand
- Learn what parts are needed to complete various tasks and understand how to track time and parts used for reconstruction
- Learn how to recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears and valves
- Learn the correct operations of all repairs and adjustments
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of using calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers and torque specs
- Must be able to learn the operation of various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling, various shop hand and electric tools and overhead hoists/cranes
- Demonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a company computer including Microsoft applications and be able to learn company specific applications
- Communicate information effectively with all levels of co-workers by phone, email or in person
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- 1+ years relevant work experience rebuilding natural gas and/or diesel engines
