🏗️ Project Manager – Electrical Construction
Overview
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of electrical construction projects—from preconstruction and scheduling to cost management and subcontractor coordination. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely, safe, and budget-conscious delivery of complex electrical systems.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Review owner contracts and ensure full compliance with terms and conditions.
- Lead development of the project schedule and quality assurance plans.
- Identify critical milestones and manage associated risks.
- Coordinate budget and scope reviews with the Preconstruction team.
- Monitor and manage the overall project budget, forecasting cost impacts as needed.
- Incorporate safety planning into all aspects of project execution.
- Oversee contract development, including GMP or lump-sum structures.
- Prepare and track subcontractor and owner change orders.
- Produce monthly requisitions for project billing.
- Evaluate subcontractor qualifications and financial strength.
- Ensure all pre-mobilization contractual requirements are met for subcontractors and vendors.
- Manage project assets and monitor job cost reports regularly.
- Develop and maintain short-term (look-ahead) project schedules.
- Implement and maintain the company’s quality control standards on site.
🧰 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent technical training/experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management, with specific experience in design, budgeting, and field execution.
- At least 2 years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, MS Office Suite, AIA formats).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of safety regulations, scheduling principles, construction financials, and project documentation.
