Job Description

Cavalry Portfolio Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Data Scientist with experience in statistical modeling supported by any of the following: R, SAS, Stata, Python to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This is currently a hybrid position but will require work at Cavalry’s Phoenix office on a regular basis. Local candidates will be considered first.

Compensation is highly competitive with a combination of base salary, significant annual bonus and selective deferred compensation programs based on applicant experience and qualifications.

As a Data Scientist, you will research and develop predictive models to meet business needs and improve operational efficiencies . This role provides opportunities to expand your skills while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Execute current statistical models to support pricing analysis.
  • Design, Develop and manage predictive models to assist with pricing decision making
  • Collect and analyze data and develop decision support tools.
  • Modify coding of SAS, Stata and R to streamline analytical processes
  • Generate documentation and guidelines for the model.
  • Conduct research of machine learning techniques to enhance existing models
  • Conduct Ad-hoc statistical data analysis.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in statistical modeling
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Physics, Math or other quantitative field with strong background in quantitative modeling;
  • Understanding of the key assumptions of statistical/machine learning models
  • Familiarity with SAS,SQL and PL/SQL. Experience with Qlikview is a plus.
  • Having practical experience with Reinforcement Learning models is a big plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of statistical software and proficiency in at least one of the tools listed below:

R, SAS, Stata, Python
