Overview:

The Copywriter is r esponsible for researching and crafting a variety of transactional content, which at various times may include promotional and offer copy, emails and other marketing writing. Partners closely with the Creative Team and larger Marketing + Purpose Team to support planned and emerging business needs.

$27.23 - $35.40 hourly or $56,640 - $73,626 annually, depending on experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Owns promotional and transactional copy for in-store signage, direct mail, coupons, email and other marketing materials.

  • Assists Senior Copywriter in crafting brand messages, including campaign headlines, evergreen signage and paid media.

  • Has the ability to mine for information, gems and little-known details that are competitive differentiators for the co-op and weave them into compelling copy, headlines and content.

  • Ensures consistent voice and tone across all co-op marketing materials and in alignment with the brand guidelines.

  • Consistently meets deadlines while handling multiple, ongoing content projects.

  • Maintains an eye for appropriate language and references regarding direct response marketing, food trends and issues within the industry.

  • Has a passion for working collaboratively across the organization both within the marketing team and with merchandising, social & environmental responsibility, store operations, HR, and the stores, at large.

  • Willing to jump in and figure out the writing challenge at hand.

Qualifications and Skills:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Creative Writing, Marketing, or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience writing for advertising, email, digital and social media; food writing experience preferred
  • An intuitive sense for storytelling
  • Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of social media best practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office as well as working knowledge of content management systems
  • Able to work within SEO framework
  • Knowledge of and interest in new content/editorial tactics
  • Excellent team player who thrives brainstorming in small and large groups, and appreciates working collaboratively as well as independently
