CalWest's partner school in the Bay Area seeks an experienced Computer Science Teacher to begin July 2025.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Education, or a related field
Master's degree and experience working with secondary school students is preferred
1+ years of teaching computer science.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for education and promoting computer science knowledge.
Dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
Experience working with middle school students is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Teaching upper-level electives (such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or Languages) to high school students as well as foundational programming courses to middle school students.
Ensure lesson plans are engaging and active, which supports a positive classroom management program.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring independent projects and teaching mini-courses related to computer science or the successful candidate’s interests.
Foster creativity and problem-solving skills through hands-on projects and activities.
Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students on programming projects.
