An East LA professional services company is looking for a CFO to join their team. In this CFO role, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing accounting, tax, FP&A, and providing a strategic view on transactional operations and payroll. The CFO will oversee a team of 25+ people and act as a business partner to leaders across all lines of business. What do you need for this CFO role?
- MUST have an MBA in Finance from a top-ranking MBA school
- 20+ years of finance experience
- MUST have experience as a CFO
- CPA (active or inactive) will get you more attention
- Should come from professional services environment (around client bill-pay)
- Be willing to be hands on in appropriate situations
- Must live in the Los Angeles area and be willing to commute onsite 5 days a week
What will you do in this CFO role?
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive long-term financial strategy
- Provide insights and recommendations to support growth, improve profitability, and manage financial risk
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, aligning with project timelines and revenue streams
- Analyze performance by project, client, and department to inform business decisions
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Manage audits, tax planning, and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Implement and refine systems for project accounting, billing schedules, and time tracking
- Monitor project budgets, actuals vs. forecasts, and profitability metrics
- Work closely with project managers to support financial decision-making and reporting
- Evaluate and improve financial systems, including ERP and project management tools
- Standardize and automate billing, reporting, and collections processes to improve efficiency
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team
- Provide mentorship and development opportunities for finance staff
