Job Description
We are currently seeking a hybrid associate attorney for a Richmond, Virginia law firm, practice will be in the loss mitigation, real estate, creditor's rights, and collections team. Practice includes legal matters, including all aspects of loss mitigation, title resolution, foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, real estate litigation, and real estate closings. Newly licensed Virginia attorneys are encouraged to apply, VA bar is required.
Real Estate:
- Assist with foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, residential real estate closings, title curative, loss mitigation services, and real estate litigation.
Legal Research:
- Conduct legal research to stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and precedents related to creditors' rights.
- Provide advice and guidance to clients on the most effective legal strategies for debt recovery.
Negotiation:
- Negotiate with debtors, debtor's attorneys, and other relevant parties to reach favorable settlements or payment arrangements to the creditor.
Bankruptcy Proceedings:
- Handle matters related to bankruptcy filings by debtors, including filing proofs of claim, attending creditors' meetings, and representing creditors in bankruptcy court.
Asset Recovery:
- Work on strategies for recovering assets to satisfy outstanding debts, which may involve foreclosure, repossession, or other legal actions.
Compliance:
- Ensure that all debt collection practices comply with relevant federal, state, and local laws and industry regulations.
