Description
The position is for a pre-MBA Associate in our Los Angeles office who will spend the majority of his or her time evaluating and executing new investment opportunities and monitoring existing portfolio companies. The Associate position is intended to be a 2-3 year program in order to give the candidate in-depth experience in principal investing prior to pursuing an MBA. Associates may be given the opportunity to continue with the Fund without pursuing an MBA on a case-by-case basis.
The Associate will participate in reviewing, analyzing, closing and monitoring unitranche, second lien, mezzanine and equity investments. The Associate will examine a wide variety of business and transaction types both directly with privately owned businesses and also in support of transactions alongside leading private equity firms. The Associate will screen and underwrite potential investment opportunities of $5-25 million per transaction, perform due diligence on prospective investments, lead financial modeling and valuation exercises, prepare investment committee memorandums, monitor financial and operating performance of portfolio companies and participate in the marketing efforts of the firm. True West maintains an entrepreneurial environment with lean deal teams and the Associate will receive substantial experience interacting with all levels of the firm.
