Compensation: $120,000 to $140,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role:
Retained by a federal construction firm in San Diego seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager or Junior Project Manager to support our growing project load. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial construction knowledge and hands-on construction and CAD experience. You’ll work directly with Project Managers, shadowing and assisting with scopes, estimates, and project setup while contributing to drawing updates and internal coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead Project Manager in all phases of construction projects
- Redline and update existing AutoCAD files for as-builts and plan revisions
- Use Bluebeam and AutoCAD to support internal drawing and markup needs
- Maintain and organize CAD files and ensure accurate documentation
- Support scope development, walk jobs with the PM, and document site conditions
- Help prepare estimates using RSMeans data and estimating software
- Manage PDF as-builts and perform light revisions in-house
- Build quick and accurate budgets and proposals in estimating software
- Primarily in-office role with occasional site visits
Requirements:
- Must have some level of AutoCAD experience (entry level acceptable)
- Strong construction knowledge with commercial or federal project background
- Proficient in Bluebeam just preferred.
- Ability to redline and revise drawings independently
- Preferred familiarity with RSMeans and how federal pricing and bidding is structured
- Understanding of estimating software and how to build scope and pricing quickly
- Excellent organizational skills, though not expected to manage teams yet
- Able to support multiple active projects and work closely with office admin staff
Bonus Skills:
- Prior experience working with federal agencies or on government contracts
- Exposure to project walks, preconstruction meetings, and field coordination
